Wushu SanShou and PushHand Inter-school Competition 2009
Organize by : SMK Taman Connaught Wushu Club
Ojectives : 1. To enhance the standard of Tai Chi push hand, San Shou and Wushu forms among the students
2. To increase the interactions among the students
Participating schools : SMK Taman Connaught, SM Yu Hua, SM Confucian, SM
Sri Ampang, SJK(C)Taman Connaught and SJK(C)Chung

Today’s event can be considered as one of the important events held by the school authorities every year where those students who had burnt the midnight oil and striven so hard last year will be awarded money and certificate due to their flying colour result last year. Students also curious about the amount of money they will soon get as the rumors saying PIBG is running out of money had spread among students. Hopefully ,the money will not decrease. ^^

Early in the morning, we lined up to take our attendance beside the hall and we were asked to sit inside the hall. Ex- form 5 students last year also came to get their awards. I could see great changes in them! Most of the guys were wearing formal suit with attractive tie to show their maturity in the sense of choosing clothes material, no more childish attire. Some of them even styled their hair and I see no more slope.

 It was a touching scene to see teachers holding their hands and chatted with them for a long time as if they had not met each other for centuries. The hall had been decorated with flowers and banners that made the hall a nice place to behold.

After waiting for ages in the hall, the event started with the teachers and VIP coming into the hall to take their seats, welcomed by the Malay Boys with their kompang and gendang. Then our school Chinese Orchestra Society played those usual songs using their musical instruments. . Next the awards were given to the Remove, Form 1, 2 and 4 students last year.

Later, the event was continued with the Malay Dance, Chinese Dance and Indian Dance which had reflected 3 different races in our school. And I would like to say, relatively speaking, THE INDIAN DANCE WAS GREAT! Cheers from the students could be heard right after their performance.  Students started to get agitated.  Eventually, it’s our turn. Awards were then given to pupils who obtain straight A in PMR and good result in SPM.  After getting the money, most of them were so realistic and rushed back home without a backward glance. *Sigh* At least say goodbye, right?

This event was marked an end by the performance of our school choir. They all dressed in librarian uniform, which is yellow shirt and brownish pants or skirts. Good job ! They are going to a competition in this coming Wednesday. We Connaughtians support you guys!

The teachers , parents and SPM students had their buffet after that . But we students had to queue up to sign first before we get our food. Some students went forward and got the teachers’ food. At least they tasted better.

The event is a success one. Greatest gratitude to the teachers and students who had worked really hard to make it a success.

 SMKTC TERUS CEMERLANG!

SMK Taman Connaught’s surrounding environment has once again been modified… All thanks to a teacher that took the initiative to beautify a small but important part of our school… I suppose by now you will know what I’m talking about if you are a Connaughtions. You are right if you think I’m talking about the Science Garden, which has been replanted and beautify as well as renamed Herb Garden. Students (especially me) will get to enjoy the scenery every time we pass

through that area in school. That area used to be an eyesore for everyone but now thanks to Puan Emilia, we now have something pleasant to look at everyday…. I encourage students to take a stroll at that area to relax their mind or to enjoy the surrounding scenery. Remember to always take care of that area. Advice your friends if they are trying to destroy the area, not to do it. We must care for our school together…

Anugerah Cemerlang, 2009 will be held on the 26th of April, 2009 (Saturday). It is a holiday on Monday (28 April 2009). School will resume back on Tuesday (29 April 2009).

The school will be having its intervention test this week for the form 3 and the form 5. Please be prepared and do your best in the test.
