Message on Influenza A, from Mr Wong.

by DanielBoey on Sep.08, 2009, under Announcement

The following message is from our Student’s Affair Teacher, Mr Wong.

We wish to inform all students and parents that the school has received two reports on Sunday night (6 September 2009) that two male students were tested positive for Influenza A at a private clinic. We have confirmed with the doctor who has treated the two students that the rapid test used is called “Clear View” and it is not meant for detecting H1N1, but only used for detecting Influenza A virus.

The two male students infected by Influenza A virus are from 2C and 3B respectively. The school has disinfected the two classrooms twice on Monday morning and all students of 2C, 2J, 3B and 5S4 who shared the same classrooms were screened for fever before they were allowed to enter the classrooms. Students who were found to have body temperature reaching 37.5C or above were sent home immediately. Parents of affected students were notified and they were asked to come to school to bring the students for treatment.

We have informed the State Education Departemnt and the Kuala Lumpur Health Department concerning  the two cases. We were told  to monitor all students closely and the classes or the school need not close for the time being.

Students who are not well or having body temperature 37.5C or higher are advised to seek treatment immediately. DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL if you are having sore throat, fever, flu or cough.

We appeal for support and cooperation from all students and parents to contain the outbreak of the disease. The PMR and SPM examinations are just around the corner. Please help the students to sit for the examinations safely.
